Long Lake is a shallow lake which winterkills regularly. Assessments of the fish population in 1982, 1992, and 1997 all show that black bullheads dominate the fish population, making up over 90% of the fish sampled in 1997. Golden shiner have increased in abundance, and are now the second most abundant species present. A few sunfish have been captured in each of the assessments. One walleye was sampled in 1997, origin unknown.
