Lakefront Pond is a 13-acre lake located within the 141-acre Lakefront Park in the City of Prior Lake and has been managed in the Fishing in the Neighborhood (FiN) program since 2004. Annual stocking has occurred from 2004 through 2017 via varying combinations of Bluegill, Black Crappie, Largemouth Bass and Northern Pike. Lakefront Pond has a fishing pier, boardwalk connecting opposite shores, several fishing blocks around the water's edge and winter aeration operated by the City. Shoreline restorations around the north and east sides of the lake have helped improve the water quality in Lakefront Pond. During the 2018 survey of Lakefront Pond, Bluegill abundance was well-above average for comparable lakes. The average length of Bluegill caught during this survey was 4.9 inches. The range in lengths was 3.5-6.3 inches. Four Walleye were caught during the survey. Walleye averaged 17 inches in total length and ranged in size from 15.7-18.5 inches. These fish are more than likely from the 2014 fry stocking, after a severe winter offered a chance to try the pond's previous use to rear Walleye for stocking elsewhere, as well as provide a short-term Walleye fishery. This attempt did not yield Walleyes to harvest for other lakes. Other fishes captured in low number during the survey included hybrid sunfish, Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike, Pumpkinseed, and White Sucker.

Lakefront Pond has been stocked with black crappie, bluegill sunfish, largemouth bass and northern pike since management began in 2005 by the Fishing in the Neighborhood (FiN) program. Lakefront Pond has a fishing pier, boardwalk across the water and several fishing blocks around the water's edge. Shoreline restorations around the north and east sides of the lake have help improve water quality in Lakefront Pond. During the 2009 survey of Lakefront Pond, northern pike captured ranged in length from 19.8 to 28.7 inches in length. The average length of northern pike captured was 24.5 inches. Bluegill abundance was well above the median level for this lake type. The average length of bluegill caught during this survey was 4.7 inches in length. Their range in total length was 3.7 to 7.2 inches. Black crappie abundance was below the median level for this lake class type. They ranged in size from 4.3 to 6.9 inches in total length with an average of 5.0 inches. Three largemouth bass were caught during this survey, averaging at a total length of 12.5 inches long. The largest bass caught was 13.5 inches in total length. Other species captured in high numbers during the survey were hybrid and pumpkinseed sunfish. Thirty-six painted turtles were captured as well as six snapping turtles. During the winter of 2009/2010 the winter aerator was not operated for benefit of this fishery. Lakefront pond is a 13-acre, lake class 40 with a history of frequent winterkills due to the shallowness of the pond. Lakefront pond was assessed to examine the fish community, water quality and possibilities to expand shorefishing opportunities. Currently, shorefishing access around the pond is limited by forest and tall vegetation, but there is a boardwalk that crosses over the pond, where local children are often seen fishing. Lakefront pond provides a unique opportunity to catch some larger bluegills at a local lake. Bluegill sunfish abundance was high for a lake of this type. Sampled bluegills had lengths between 2.6 and 8.0 inches; over half of the bluegills captured were 6 inches or more in length. Hybrid sunfish were the only other fish species sampled.
