July 28, 1986DUE TO LOW OXYGEN CONTENT, NO GILLNETS WERE SET FOR THIS EVALUATION. FISH POPULATION MOST LIKELY DUE TO MIGRATION BETWEEN ISLAND AND LITTLE ISLAND LAK…

DUE TO LOW OXYGEN CONTENT, NO GILLNETS WERE SET FOR THIS EVALUATION. FISH POPULATION MOST LIKELY DUE TO MIGRATION BETWEEN ISLAND AND LITTLE ISLAND LAKES VIA CULVERT. NO PREVIOUS FISH STOCKING IN LITTLE ISLAND LAKE PROPER. BASED ON RESPECTIVE LOCAL TRAPNET MEDIANS, THE PRESENT FISH POPULATION STATUS IS AS FOLLOWS: THE NORTHERN PIKE WAS VERY HIGH AT 5.50 PER SET WITH A MEDIAN LENGTH OF 16.0- 16.9 AND AN AVERAGE WT OF 1.0 LBS. THE BLACK CRAP- PIE WAS ALSO QUITE HIGH AT 33.75 PER SET WITH A MEDIAN LENGTH OF 8.0 - 8.4. THE BROWN BULLHEAD WAS HIGH AT 16.50 PER SET WITH A MEDIAN LENDTH 7.0 - 7.4, THE BROWN BULLHEAD WAS HIGH AT 12.75 PER SET WHILE THE BLACK BULLHEAD, YELLOW BULLHEAD, PUMP- KINSEED, HYBRID SUNFISH AND WALLEYE ALL HAD LOW POPULATION FIGURES. ALTHOUGH THE LARGEMOUTH BASS WAS NOT TAKEN, THERE IS LITTLE DOUBT IT IS PRESENT VIA ISLAND LAKE.
